They put down their grieving and pick themselves up to resume a life they've lived many times before. Surviving months of starvation, disease, and terrible crisis management is being hailed as a sign of perseverance in our country once again. It's no secret that the Filipino people have long taken pride in their ability to resist natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and typhoon after typhoon. Why shouldn't they, after all? Being able to bounce back immediately after a hardship, all the while offering help and warmth to other people, is a feat one should always hope to have.
